Celebrating Disability Pride Month: How Blossom supports all clients with disabilities

Every July, Disability Pride Month honours the uniqueness of individuals with disabilities and promotes visibility and mainstream awareness of the positive pride felt by disabled individuals.

This is a campaign we at Blossom wholeheartedly support. We are privileged to work with countless clients across the UK who require carefully tailored support for their disabilities, providing best-in-class home care services needed to thrive.

Whether it’s supporting clients with long-term disabilities, or individuals who may be recovering from major surgery or life-changing injuries, we are dedicated to delivering incredibly compassionate and expert care.

To help you find out more about our industry-leading disability home care support service, here are six ways our highly trained carers ensure each client’s unique needs are met, and independence is maintained as much as possible.

1. Working with multidisciplinary teams (MDT)

Our care teams work closely not only with the client’s MDT, but also family members from the very beginning.

By fostering strong collaboration between doctors, nurses, social workers, mental health professionals, physiotherapists, and other healthcare providers, we ensure every aspect of the client’s care is coordinated and comprehensive.

2. Creating bespoke care plans

No two clients’ disabilities are the same, so nor should be the care which is delivered. That’s why all Blossom clients receive a fully bespoke care plan tailored to specific needs.

This laser-focused approach allows us to provide the right level of care, which enhances the client’s comfort and safety in their own home. Such care plans are also designed to improve the client’s overall sense of wellbeing and quality of life.

3. Relieving stress for family members

Helping to look after a disabled loved one can be incredibly challenging for family members, especially when they are also acting as primary carers.

Our professional carers take on the responsibility of managing the client’s care, allowing family members to focus on their own lives whilst knowing their loved one is in the most capable hands. By entrusting our immensely empathetic care teams to handle the coordination with the client’s MDT and support staff, families can experience a significant reduction in stress.

4. Minimum 50-minute visits

Unlike many other care providers who rush through visits, we have an unbreakable commitment to ensuring each visit lasts a minimum of 50 minutes, should the client be happy with this.

This extended time allows our carers to engage meaningfully with clients, whether through friendly conversations, shared activities, or routine care duties. It also helps to build stronger relationships and ensure disabled clients receive the attention and support they truly deserve.

5. An holistic approach to care

One of Blossom’s core beliefs is providing a genuinely holistic approach to care that addresses clients’ physical, emotional, and social needs.

Our carers take the time to understand each client’s limitations, hobbies, interests, and wishes. This life-affirming approach helps prevent health deterioration and dramatically improves the client’s outlook and overall happiness; a positive mindset often leads to positive outcomes.

6. Providing full transparency with our real-time app

To provide complete transparency and peace of mind for both clients and loved ones, we have developed an industry-leading app.

This app is updated live with details of the care being provided, allowing family members to check in at any time, day or night, reinforcing the trust and confidence in our multi award-winning services.
